Ms Lombardi has been working in the telco and ICT sectors for more than 20 years; she is currently Senior Vice President, Head of Innovation & Industry Relations in Telecom Italia. In this role she leads the different TI group areas of innovation. She also coordinates Industry Relations activities. She earned an MSc. in Physics in 1991 at the University La Sapienza of Rome with a thesis on sensors for advanced robotics. She then won a European competition for a temporary contract with the European Space Agency ESTEC in the Netherlands. She then moved to Tecsiel, a leading Italian software company, as a software developer in object oriented language for advanced solutions. In 1996 she joined TIM, in the CTO Office, starting her carrier in telecommunications. In 2000 she accepted the challenge of a telco start-up company, Blu, where she first took responsibility for Network Planning and then for Service Development. In 2003 she was back in TIM Commercial Department where she lead a number of initiatives spanning from innovative services (Personal IM, RCS), new interconnect models (IPX), innovative roaming architectures (Local Break out), new commercial opportunities (partnership with big players), just to name a few. In October 2014 she became the head the Innovation and Industry Relations Department, her current position, where she head a group of more than 150 people. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of Fondazione Telecom. She is also member of the Board of the Global Women Telecom Network, and of the GSMA PSMC. Lucy is married and has 2 children
